ABOUT THE SHOW
Come experience a unique showcase of incredible songs, storytelling, collaboration and community. This concert series brings you 4 talented songwriters curated by Aaron Nathans, Avi Wisnia, and Meghan Cary. Each month, a different line up of stand out artists share the stage, taking turns performing an eclectic variety of original songs, sharing the stories behind those songs, and speaking to the unique perspective that comes with having strong connections to the Philadelphia music scene. Our November concert features: Chelsea Reed, Cate Monaco, Ginger Coyle, and your host Avi Wisnia.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Chelsea Reed is a jazz vocalist, arranger, composer, bandleader, and educator living in Philadelphia. With a penchant for 20th century swing and blues music, Reed founded Chelsea Reed and the Fair Weather Band in October 2012. They have gone on to record five albums and tour around the world playing for swing and blues dancers, sharing stages with Wycliffe Gordon, Terell Stafford, and Dick Oatts. Her most recent album, Carolina Lullaby (2020), showcases original songs steeped in jazz, blues, and folk traditions where Reed’s soaring vocals and swing musicality shine.

Cate Monaco has been performing in the Philadelphia music scene for many years, stepping out with her own unique sound. Cate’s music dances the line between ethereal storytelling, satirical whimsy, and simmering introspective turbulence. Her piano-driven arrangements are delicate and purposeful, with classical undertones. Lyrically, she draws from themes like philosophical wondering, inner unrest, and the phenomenon of quiet resilience in a silencing world. Cate’s songs shift between softness and power as her emotive vocals and intricate melodies lilt through her soundscape.
